　　麦当劳先生是著名的意大利布索尼国际钢琴比赛的冠军获得者，并是著名的美国威廉•坎贝尔国际比赛的获奖者。他曾就读于劳伦斯大学、后来求学于茱莉娅音乐学院、柯蒂斯音乐学院、及曼哈顿音乐学院。他的老师包括：霍洛晓夫斯基、格拉夫曼、西莫•黎普金、鲁道夫•塞尔金等等。

　　美国钢琴家罗伯特•麦当劳先生的演出足迹遍及北美、拉丁美洲、欧洲、及远东，是一位很少见的独奏钢琴家及室内乐演奏家。他曾是最著名的小提琴家斯特恩（Issac Stern）、及宓多丽（Midori）多年的长期合作伙伴。他曾经与北美及欧洲各大乐团有过合作，并与世界上最为著名的弦乐四重奏团体合作，如：茱莉娅弦乐四重奏、Takacs四重奏、Brentano四重奏，上海四重奏、圣劳伦斯四重奏等等。他也经常出现在各大室内乐音乐节里，如林肯中心室内乐音乐季、芝加哥室内乐音乐节、日本国家电台（NHK）及英国国家广播电台（BBC）的音乐会。他的CD也被各大唱片公司出版，如索尼古典、VOX、Bridge、Muiscal Heritage Society、ASV 和 CRI。

　　罗伯特•麦当劳教授现同时任教于美国著名的茱莉娅音乐学院和柯蒂斯音乐学院。他同时也是新墨西哥州的TAOS国际室内乐音乐节及音乐学校的艺术总监。作为最当红的教师，他曾被各大主流音乐节邀请去讲学，其中包括：伯根、贝藏松、琉森、萨尔茨堡、奥德堡、马尔波罗、布利瓦德、班夫等。他也在美国、加拿大、日本、韩国、中国几乎所有的重点音乐学院讲授过大师班。

Robert McDonald tours extensively as a soloist and chamber musician throughout United States, Europe, Asia, and South America. He has appeared with major orchestras in the United States and was a recital partner with Isaac Stern and other distinguished instrumentalists for many years. He has played with the Takács, Vermeer, Juilliard, Brentano, Borromeo, American, Shanghai, and St. Lawrence string quartets, as well as Music from Marlboro. His discography includes recordings for Sony Classical, Bridge, Vox, Musical Heritage Society, ASV, and CRI.

Mr. McDonald's acquired numerous prizes including the gold medal at the Busoni International Piano Competition, the top prize at the William Kapell International Competition, and the Deutsche Schallplatten Critics Award. Mr. McDonald has numbers of degrees from Lawrence University, the Curtis Institute of Music, the Juilliard School, and the Manhattan School of Music. Hehadstudied with Theodore Rehl, Seymour Lipkin, Rudolf Serkin, Mieczyslaw Horszowski, Beveridge Webster, and Gary Graffman.

Mr. McDonald is a member of the piano faculty at Juilliard since 1999, and joined the faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music in 2007.
